August 15: Arrive Bergen Norway [D]
Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, is between mountains and fjords.
Founded in 1070 it is the capital of fjord country. Seafaring Bergen gave us two cultural icons --
playwright Henrik Ibsen and composer Edvard Grieg. Late morning, drive to Troldhaugen, home
of Grieg. This typical 19th c residence with a panoramic tower and veranda overlooks Nordas
Lake. Visit the house where Greig spent his last years, museum, graveyard, and hut where he
composed. Light lunch (on own) at Troldhaugen Café. Tour ends at our hotel. Remaining time is
at leisure to explore the old city. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel Scandic Oernen.
August 16: Bergen [B/D]
Start with walking tour of Bergen. A UNESCO World Heritage city, ancient Bergen looms in
Viking sagas. In 1360, the German Hanseatic League set up offices at Bryggen, dominating
trade for 400 years. We join our guide for a walk along historic Bryggen wharf and visit the
Hanseatic Museum,an old merchant house. Stroll through narrow alleyways from lively Fish
Market to Bergenhus Fortress, passing boutiques with crafts. End with a funicular to the top of
Mt. Fløyen for magnificent views. Dinner at local restaurant is included. Overnight in Bergen.
August 17: Bergen / Flam / Lofthus [B/D]
We venture into the heart of Fjord region with some of the most breathtaking scenery. A day
begins with a drive to Voss and express train to Myrdal and famous Flam Railway for an thrilling
ride descending 2,600 feet through tunnels, waterfalls and mountains to the village of Flam.
Enjoy a leisurely cruise through majestic Sognefjord with the grandeur of cliffs that flank the
fjord. Rejoin our coach in Gudvangen and drive via Stalheim Canyon to Lofthus, an enchanting
village on shores of Hardangerfjord. Our landmark hotel faces the fjord. Hotel Ullensvang.
August 18: Hardangerfjord [B/D]
Lofthus is on the shores of Hardangerfjord, in a region blessed with stunning natural beauty and
snowcapped mountains. The area is abundant with pristine fjords and fertile land. Tour to a local
farm is included today. Dinner included.
August 19: Lofthus/ Oslo [B/D]
Journey though scenic countryside with a stop at mighty Voeringfoss Waterfall cascading 600ft.
Arrive Oslo for guided tour of the old Viking capital. Visit Vigeland Sculpture Park with
impressive sculptures, City Hall, waterfront and Holmenkollen Ski Jump. Hotel Scandic St
Olavs Plass. Dinner included.
August 20: Oslo [B/D]
Explore Oslo with the Resistance Museum in medieval Akershus Fortress. It documents
Norway’s occupation and resistance in WWII. On the peninsula Bygdoy, visit the Viking Ship
Museum with ships and artifacts dating from 800AD. Marvel at City Hall’s murals. This is where
the Nobel Peace Prize is announced. Norway’s leading artists, including Edvard Munch,
contributed. The tour ends at the hotel. Dinner included.
August 21: Oslo – Overnight Cruise [B/D]
Morning free to explore. Mid afternoon transfer to the pier to board the overnight ferry to
Copenhagen. Dinner included onboard. DFDS Overnight Ferry-Outside Cabins.
August 22: Copenhagen [B/L]
Arrive Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital and cultural center. Leave the ship, then enjoyer
sightseeing. Our tour features Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid, Christiansborg
Palace, and Nyhavn, world famous and recently restored district. Our hotel is centrally located
near to parks, cafes, restaurants and shops. Visit Tivoli Gardens, a famous amusement park
and pleasure garden. The park opened in 1843 and is second-oldest operating amusement
park in the world. Enjoy group lunch in the park and free time to explore. Overnight in

August 23: Copenhagen [B/D]
This is a royals day trip to North Zealand. We explore Frederiksborg Castle and flamboyant King
Christian IV who lived here, walk through rooms like the Coronation Chapel and then stroll
through the castle’s French Baroque gardens with a guide. We visit Helsingør Castle in Hamlet
and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tonight enjoy a food tour in Copenhagen.
August 24: Copenhagen – USA [B]
In the morning transfer to the airport for flights home or continue to Stockholm
