About the play:
Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era South, defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge and his children against prejudice. Inspired by Lee’s own childhood in Alabama, To Kill a Mockingbird features one of literature’s enduring symbols of integrity and morality in the character of Atticus Finch, based on Lee’s own father. The character of Scout, based on Lee herself, has come to define the innocence of youth and loss for generations.
